Parent Rights
Special education, for students ages 3 to 21, is guided by federal and state requirements. The federal requirements are referred to as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The state requirements are referred to as the Ohio Operating Standards for the Education of Children with Disabilities (Ohio Operating Standards).
Annual Notice Section 504
Students, employees or residents with complaints or concerns under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 can obtain a complaint form from the District’s 504 Compliance Officer, Mike Lenzo, at 7075 State Route 88, Ravenna, Ohio 44266. The phone number is (330) 296-2892 Ext. 551003.
Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities
The Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities Agency (OOD) is the state agency that partners with Ohioans with disabilities to achieve quality employment, independence and Social Security disability determination outcomes through its Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation (BVR), Bureau of Services for the Visually Impaired (BSVI) and Division of Disability Determination.
